HT Fireboard Behind a Stove: Prepare the Wall Before Winter

Vitcas HT Fireboard for documented protective applications

The wall behind the stove is best prepared when the appliance is cold and will not be needed for the next few days. You can then calmly inspect the substrate and fit the cover. First, determine the requirements of the stove: merely having a resistant board does not set the permissible distance from the wall.

Draw what will be covered

Record the wall layers, the placement of the cables, and the planned coverage area. Take into account the corners and access to the device connections. This way, cutting will not accidentally limit the operation of the stove or future inspections.

HT Fireboard is a heat-resistant board with the described protective and finishing applications. Its properties should be related to a specific cross-section. The sheet does not replace the documentation of the entire partition or the requirements for concealed wood or building insulation.

Adjust the sheet and the method of attachment

Check the stability and flatness of the substrate before applying adhesive. Mark the joints and the areas that require leaving open space. Fitting the entire surface will also show whether the narrow section at the edge has the intended support.

HB60 is used in compatible, temperature-resistant connections. The choice of adhesive should consider the panel, wall, and installation instructions. Loose old coating requires preparation; it does not become a strong substrate by covering it with a sheet.

Allow time for finishing

Heat Resistant Plaster can be applied to a properly prepared HT panel. Check the designated side of the sheet, priming, and required thickness. Prepare the amount of material for the actual surface instead of thickening the layer to cover installation unevenness.

Follow the bonding and drying stages of all products used. Before closing the enclosure, photograph the mounting and connections. When the stove is eventually replaced, this record will allow checking the existing wall against the new device requirements.
